We’ve switched over (almost) everything in the kitchen. And it’s definitely been a slow transition. We’re big advocates for replacing as you run out, and choosing better options when it’s time to replace something. So heres a roundup for some great low-tox kitchen essentials from Amazon for when the time is right!

// It took me so long to jump on the cast iron bandwagon. I promise you it’s not a chore to clean and the seasoning isn’t intimidating. As long as you keep it well oiled it will last you a lifetime! Here’s one of the best (and affordable) options for a cast iron skillet.
// If your kiddos are taking sandwiches on the go, these LunchSkins are an awesome plastic-free option. Or if you’re up for an even better swap… try the reusable Stasher bags at #9!
// We’ve slowly ditched all of the plastic tupperware because of how scratched, stained, and warped they were. And we’ve have switched to glass. Here’s a great set with locking lids (less prone to spills)!
// I had no idea that dinnerware could contain lead. Especially in brightly coloured or hand painted dishes. We had an old set that due to be replaced and have switched to these Corelle dishes which have been tested to be lead-free. But make sure you opt for the winter frost white! Some of the other printed variations may contain lead.
// This Attitude dish soap ticks all of my low-tox boxes. And we love the large (super economical) refillable container!
// These dish brushes are a great sustainable option if you’re looking for a plastic free (no nylon bristles) dish scrubber.
// Teflon was thrown in the fire many years ago when it was discovered that the non-stick coating contained chemicals that have been linked to cancer. You can read more about it here. And since then we’ve been avoiding all ‘non-stick’ coatings. Here’s a great set of stainless steel pots and pans. And the bonus is they really last forever!
// Stasher makes one of the best re-usable storage bags. They’re great for storing in the freezer or taking snacks on the go.
// Again with the non-stick coating, we’ve ditched all of our old scratched baking sheets for something a little less toxic. These stainless steel pans are perfect for cookies or oven roasting!
// This is our favourite brand of unbleached parchment paper!
